A Report of the Inaugration of the Jalgaon District Unit of the Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship, Maharastra State Branch, on Monday, the 30th June at 4.00 p.m. at Jalgaon.

Mr. Mukesh Khanna declared the Unit open by lighting the traditional lamp and presenting the 'Charter of Registration' of the new unit to Mr. Vishan Milwani, the President elect of the new unit.
Mr. Mukesh Khanna, in his address mentioned that the hero of his serial 'Shaktiman' has become super idol of millions of young boys and girls in towns, villages and cities. The acts of Shaktiman are similar to what young boys & girls learn in Scouting and Guiding, he said.
'Take care of your precious body, do not misuse it', he said. Pointing out to hundreds of children in the gathering, he asked them to revere their parents & teachers, drink milk and eat healthy food, not to lie and cheat in examinations. And the children responded with a resounding 'Yes'. He also specially asked the mothers to let the child learn and grown in a natural way. 'Allow them to play and learn by themselves. Let them join the movement of Scouting & Guiding where Outing is Scouting ' he said. We need to reduce stress and tension prevailing in the minds of both parents and children and at times manifested in suicides and such other acts when the children fail to achieve the super aspirations of parents and even teachers, he said.
Mr. Mukesh Khanna, the Shaktiman of the Indian Screen, standing tall from all angles, addressed the huge gathering like a modern messiah of the millions of children of the country. He was profusely applauded by one and all.
Mr. S. K. Agarwal, President of the Maharashtra State branch, in his introductory address, complimented Shri Vishan Milwani, the President of the new unit, Mr. Sunil Milwani and his entire team on establishing the New Unit. He said that the Jalgaon unit would support the activities and training of more than one lakh Scouts and Guides in the Jalgaon District by their resources and talents. He said that all the Former Scouts and Guides, need to acknowledge and give back to the movement what they learned in their young days and imbibed in Scouting and Guiding. They must support the organization of Bharat Scouts and Guides in every district of Maharashtra and the whole country.
Mr. Satish Khanna, Guest of honour and Working President of the Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship, National HQ, mentioned that the National organization was affiliated to the International Fellowship in Belgium together with more than 55 other countries in the world. He traced the history of the Fellowship since it was established in the year 1952 at Switzerland and then around 1955 in India. He mentioned about the objectives of the Fellowship. He invited the young and old adults who have been Scouts and Guides in their young days (former Scouts & Guides) and all those who love the movement, to join it and support scouting and guiding and participate in community services with scout-guide spirit.
Shri Vishan Milwani, a very prominent industrialist of Jalgaon, in his brief presidential address, assured to carry out the aims and objects of the Indian Fellowship and thanked Mr. Mukesh Khanna for visiting the Golden City of Jalgaon and for his mission of improving the Health & Discipline of the children of India and the role of parents and teachers through his image of 'Shaktiman', the first super hero of the Indian Screen. He also thanked the veteran Fellowship Members of the sister Greater Mumbai Unit who had travelled such a long distance, including its President, Dr. S.A. Mehta, to encourage and grace this inaugural ceremony.
Members of the Rotary Club of Jalgaon also attended the function in large numbers. The Jalgaon District Unit would have full support from the Rotary Club of Jalgaon mentioned Shri Sunil Milwani, who later in the evening was installed as its New President.
Shri Kunal Kumar, the Collector of Jalgoan called upon the members of the new unit to take up the project of Tree Plantation in the Jalgaon District and save and preserve the water level. He said, conservation of water is a grave challenge not only for the government, but it should be a challenge for every NGO. In response, Mr. S. K. Agarwal assured that the new unit would do its best to implement the Tree Plantation project together with young Scouts & Guides in the district and requested Shri B.B. Pawar, District Organising Commissioner of BS&G, present in function to co-operate with the new unit. Shri S. K. Agarwal & Mr Mukesh Khanna kicked-off the Tree Plantation drive by planting saplings at the ceremony.
Mr. Satish Khanna complimented the role of Mr. Vishnu Agarwal & Mr. Ashok Lalwani & Mr. Sunil Milwani for their efforts in helping the State Branch in establishing the Jalgaon District Unit.
To mark the auspicious and memorable occasion of inauguration, four physically handicapped persons were gifted 'Jaipur Foot' by the new District Unit.
During the day, the Fellowship Members from Mumbai and Jalgaon and the Rotarians attended Institute of Management where Shri Mukesh Khanna delivered a brilliant key note address on the subject of 'Youth & Leadership'.
The group also visited the Utkarsh School of Mentally retarded children at Jalgaon. The children were thrilled and mesmerized beyond their mental disability and danced with their super hero 'Shaktiman' with unspoken delight.
In the evening, the Fellowship members were invited at the Installation ceremony of Shri Sunil Milwani, as the new President of the Rotary Club Jalgaon Goldcity.
Mr. Satish Khanna & S.K. Agarwal felicitated the New President, Mr. Mukesh Khanna was the chief guest at the function.
