We are off to Bihar!

An inspiring message from our beloved patron - Shri Rameshwar Thakur, Governor of Karnataka State

The Maharashtra State branch of the Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship will operate a 12 days medical camp in association with the Fellowship Branch in Bihar. Doctors and volunteers from Mumbai and Bihar will provide facilities like health check-up and treatment for the thousands of flood affected people who are still lacking basic medical care and support. The has been set up at Trivenigunj area, dist Sokul in Bihar.

Medicines worth more than Rs 80,000 have been sent to Bihar for operating the camp as well as equipment and other facilities from the Fellowship Branch in Bihar, makes this a one-of-a-kind way to provide relief to the victims.

Flagging off the medicines and volunteers from Mumbai, Shri S K Agarwal, President, Maharashtra State Branch said, "Many of the people who donated generously to this cause wanted to make sure that their relief money actually goes to the people who need it. Hence we decided to send our team personally to do the work. Our previous work in the Orissa Supercylone, Gujarat Earthquake, Tsunami and other natural disasters around India has earned us a great deal of trust and this is our way of living upto the trust placed in us by our donors." Further, "Shri Vishnu Agarwal, Shri Ashish Pawaskar & Shri Girish Singh have done commendable work for this project", he said.

The Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship is a non-political, non-profit organisation aimed primarily at supporting the Bharat Scouts & Guides in India. It is affiliated to the International Scout & Guide Fellowship in Brussels, which has over 80,000 members in 56 countries and has State Branches under it in over 12 Indian states. The Maharashtra State Branch has always been in the forefront for providing all kinds of help to people affected by circumstances, natural or otherwise. A host of programmes are run by it to ensure education, health & basic rights for all. We work together with members of district units in Maharashtra.
